A Splice of the Future

This short horror is based in a futuristic world where Genetic splicing has fractured the human race. It’s aim is to raise awareness around animal testing, specifically testing in cosmetic production. The video explores horror tropes but also totally subverts expectations.

Faces/

Façades

A video exploring Faces, Façades and the literal and metaphorical connection between them – how in reality there is no difference, and how each persons face holds countless different façades. The outcome consists of three reels intended to induce discomfort and sensory overload: the central one an ever shifting stream of faces reading a monologue – partially printed and exposed onto 16mm film. The left reel focuses on found footage reflecting the “face” aspect of the monologue, the right reel applys the same theory to the “façades”. The final outcome is intended to feel meditative, psychedelic and hypnotic. The outcome serves as a reflection and medition on passing thoughts.

How Fair these Creatures

The client, Georgia, wanted a dark, ominous tone to showcase her “Morlock” character horror makeup. Due to the limited crew, I was both directing and playing the monster. Shooting in full prosthetics on a winter’s day on Hampstead Heath was a challenge, but the struggle of shooting the film only added to the struggle depicted in the final outcome.

The Time Travela

Stuck in a forgotten world, an ageing Timetraveler must navigate the harsh terrain to ensure his own survival! Hidden under the prosthetics, The 22 year old (female) model convincingly portrays the weathered Timetraveler exploring a new world. Featuring and old-school D&B soundtrack and recorded on early-2000s handicam, The Time Travela was an exersise in creating the wierdest video possible. The outcome feels nostalgic yet modern in its humour, familiar in its absurdity.

Ramona Flowers

Created for my Media Studies A-Level, “I want to be with you demonstrates my own take on Chloe Moriondo’s song. The video is inspired by the same grungy, 90s era aesthetics that the song brings to mind, and was my first time story-boarding and planning out a video. I loved the experience and the editing process and it inspired me to keep working with video.

Thanks to this video, and the CD Digipak that I designed alongside it, I was awarded the Camebridge A-Level “Top in Country Award” for Media Studies in Spain.

CAMALEON

Titles, motion Graphics and Colour Correction for the Spanish Psychedelic Rock Band ‘Mota Blues’.

Their song was trippy, bold and strange and they wanted the Graphics to reflect that. Taking inspiration from Camel Cigarettes, we developed a vintage-feeling identity that could by applied to both the video and its marketing.

The outcome utilises footage the singer recorded of a dead Cameleon. This was edited and altered to create a kaleidoscopic, hypnotising effect that, along with the colour pallette, could make you feel wavy.

Cuando Te Veo

The second video I directed, shot and edited for the up-and-coming Spanish rapper G-Lemon. Shot on our sixth form holiday to Mallorca, and despite costing me a camera in the process, the project was more fun and less work. The outcome doesn’t take itself too seriously and neither does tha artist. This video also taught me to begin enjoying the editing process in addition to filming.

Otra Dimen$iøn

The first film I made.

Directed, shot and edited for G-Lemon with no budget and no resources. “Puro Flow”.
