1979

My Dad has always inspired me. I followed a similar path to him – leaving home to study Graphic Design in London at 19. I wanted to honour him in my work, and a brief focusing on my identity and history felt like the perfect chance to do this. So, rummaging through a collection of Dad’s old work from his Foundation in Hartlepool and and his First-year of study at Harrow School of Art, I found some powerful images he captured showing his life 40 years ago.
The silkscreen-printed posters below pay homage to the work my father was creating, and to the processes with which he would have been making it. Each poster focuses on a landscape synonymous with his upbringing, and is accompanied by a bit of copy to provide context.
